Bathroom Wall Cabinet Build IKEA Style

Bathroom Wall Cabinet Build IKEA Style

I built an Ikea style Bathroom Wall Cabinet, but it was a challenge from the start. This Chinese-made cabinet is made of awful compressed paper and is very weak. I dropped one of the doors and the structure tore, not really broke. Luckily, I had some school glue on hand to repair it.

Bathroom Wall Cabinet Building Disaster

Besides being poorly constructed, the instructions were also unclear on how to attach the hinges. It took me three tries to get them right! Furthermore, I would advise against purchasing this brand if you see it for sale online or in-store.

However, as luck would have it, my second Bathroom Wall Cabinet from the same manufacturer went together much better without any problems. Even with the hinges, I was able to get them on correctly the first time. What’s more, since I bought two of these cabinets, one for each bathroom, I was able to learn from my mistakes and avoid some potential issues.

Equally important, if you’re looking to add a cabinet like this to your bathroom, I would recommend looking elsewhere for better options. See my pictures in the description for Brand and Model. Last but not least, I don’t recommend this brand due to its poor quality and confusing instructions.

First, let me say that I’m glad I was able to get the second cabinet working without any issues. Next, I’ll be sharing some tips on how to avoid common mistakes when building your own bathroom cabinets. Finally, if you have any questions or comments about my experience with this brand, please leave them in the video comments.

I retired from a large mid-western medical equipment manufacturer on December 31 (2019) and decided to try to let everyone in on my life and my transition into retirement. I have a varied set of interests. I live in a 90 year old cape cod in the middle of a small city of 70,000 people. I have a small lot across the street from the city seat of government, but despite that I have a 1952 Allis Chalmers farm tractor that I drive around the city from time to time. My wife has a business that has me fixing and creating cool home decor out of broken windows and drywall screws. I have been known to buy things on 'for sale' lists, fix it up, clean it up, generally add value and sell it off. Oh, yes, I'm getting chickens! But first I have to build the chicken coop and run. It will be like no other you have ever seen. Also will give me something to do. I am into home automation, have a Home Assistant enabled home and so will the chickens! I'll have to give them a password...
