Fix Allis WD Hydraulics & Prep Wood Splitter

Fix Allis WD Hydraulics & Prep Wood Splitter

Welcome back to my YouTube channel “What Are We Fixing Today”! In this latest video, I’m excited to share with you how I fix Allis WD hydraulics on my tractor. As a reminder, we’re still working through the Tractor Series, and today’s mission is to get everything back up and running smoothly.

Today, fix Allis WD Hydraulics was essential, so I headed out to a local hydraulic hose shop to purchase some custom-made replacement hoses. One was $39, while the longer one was $41 – not cheap, but what are you going to do when they’re clearly junk? Besides, my tractor wouldn’t be of much use without them! So, I installed the new hoses and… well, that’s where things started to get a bit tricky.

Installing the hydraulic hoses went smoothly, but then I encountered some issues with the rusty gas tank. It was dropping crap into the gas, which is very annoying – not only does it clog up the works, but it also makes me wonder what kind of stuff was festering in there! What’s more, it made a real mess, so I knew I’d have to clean that thing out and coat the inside.

However, I wasn’t about to let a few setbacks get me down. Equally important, I had other priorities to attend to – like getting everything ready for some side-splitting action with my trusty wood splitter! So, after a bit of struggle, I finally managed to get the job done. Now, I’m not going to spoil it for you, so be sure to watch until the end to see what happened next and how it all came together in the end.

I retired from a large mid-western medical equipment manufacturer on December 31 (2019) and decided to try to let everyone in on my life and my transition into retirement. I have a varied set of interests. I live in a 90 year old cape cod in the middle of a small city of 70,000 people. I have a small lot across the street from the city seat of government, but despite that I have a 1952 Allis Chalmers farm tractor that I drive around the city from time to time. My wife has a business that has me fixing and creating cool home decor out of broken windows and drywall screws. I have been known to buy things on 'for sale' lists, fix it up, clean it up, generally add value and sell it off. Oh, yes, I'm getting chickens! But first I have to build the chicken coop and run. It will be like no other you have ever seen. Also will give me something to do. I am into home automation, have a Home Assistant enabled home and so will the chickens! I'll have to give them a password...
