Hello everyone, and welcome back to What Are We Fixing Today! I’m Sir GoodEnough, and today we’re tackling a problem that’s surprisingly common – Fixing an Office Chair Gas Strut. It’s something many people don’t realize is a straightforward fix!
Symptoms of a problem are the chair sinks when you sit on it. What’s more, maybe it won’t pop up at all when you twist the handle. Furthermore, perhaps it’s always too high and won’t adjust lower, or it’s always too low and won’t adjust high enough. Seriously, it’s frustrating!
The good news is, the fix is all the same. Replacing the gas strut is a surprisingly easy DIY job. Moreover, you won’t need any complicated tools – seriously!
All you need is a hammer and maybe a vice grip for stubborn ones. In addition, I’ll show you exactly how I do it, step-by-step. Firstly, we’ll talk about identifying the issue and then we’ll proceed with the replacement. Next, you’ll see how to safely remove the old strut. What’s more, I’ll explain how to install the new one.
